Tawna (also known as Tawna Bandicoot) is an Eastern Barred Bandicoot and former love interest of Crash Bandicoot. Like Crash, she is a result of an experiment with the Evolvo Ray. Cortex held Tawna hostage while Crash was returning back to Cortex Island to rescue her. She is later rescued with the help of the Gems as platforms after defeating Cortex. Due to a complaint from Universal Interactive Studio's marketing director, Tawna was initially removed from the series. From her point of view, Tawna's character was way too outrageous. Tawna was re-designed before built into game and was later removed altogether. Despite this, Tawna has made cameos in various Crash games and returned in Crash: Boom, Bang!.

Tawna has cameoed in Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, and Crash: Mind Over Mutant as a picture in Crash's House. She appears in Crash Twinsanity, during Slip Slide Ice-Capades, on the Moulin Cortex sign.
