Luigi's Mansion 2 is the upcoming sequel to the 2001 game, Luigi's Mansion. This Luigi's Mansion title is to be developed by Next Level Games and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS. The game was revealed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011 (E3 2011) during Nintendo's conference on June 7, 2011.

Shigeru Miyamoto said that he wished to create a 3DS Luigi's Mansion after using the original game to test the hardware on the 3DS.

Setting Edit

The game was revealed to take place at several different mansions.

Gameplay Edit

The game introduces an upgraded Poltergeist 3000 called the Poltergeist 5000. Shining light via flashlight is no longer sufficient to stun all ghosts in the game. Players need to activate a strobe function to stun the ghosts. The game is said to be a lot more puzzle oriented and Toad will help Luigi accomplish his tasks.

While the original game utilized the second analog stick on the Nintendo GameCube controller, several of Luigi's movements can be controlled using either button presses or motion control via the Nintendo 3DS gyroscope and accelerometer.
