The Gooper Blooper is a gigantic, blooper that resides in Ricco Harbor and later Noki Bay in Super Mario Sunshine. The Gooper Blooper, like its name suggests, is able to shoot goop out of its mouth when unplugged. His long tentacles are used to smack Mario but are also a weak point.

Super Mario Sunshine[]

The Gooper Blooper is first seen in Super Mario Sunshine as the boss of Episode 1: Gooper Blooper Breaks Out in Ricco Harbor. One of his tentacles is sticking out of a crack in a crate in the city district of Ricco Harbor. Once Mario pulls the tentacle all the way and snaps it off, the Gooper Blooper then breaks out of the crates angrily. The blooper then engages in a fight with Mario. In order to defeat the Gooper Blooper, Mario has to rid it of all the tentacles and then pull the plug stuck in the mouth. Spraying water on the blooper will cause it to try to kill Mario will all of its tentacles at once. After this, the Gooper Blooper will start to shoot out goop and his tentacles have regrown. After going through the same process again, the blooper will be sent flying into the sea covered in goop. The Gooper Blooper is later seen again in Episode 5: Gooper Blooper Returns at Ricco Harbor. This time, he is found on the helicopter pad. He also gained a new ability in which he spins his tentacles around. The same strategy is ued to defeat him and will once again be flung into the sea upon defeat. The Gooper Blooper makes his final appearance in the game at Noki Bay in Episode 2: The Boss of Tricky Ruins. He'll appear at the top of the cliff, sitting atop the entrance to the ruins which holds a Shine Sprite. After defeat, he'll be sent flying into the side of a mountain.
